Let’s say this book is not for everyone. Although I enjoyed the storyline and and as always Nia delivers and engaging story, but I could not warm up to Ashley. This is a result of my own bias, not that she cheated, but that she knowingly cheated with a married man. Regardless of the lies Jerrison told her she knew he was married and living with his wife. Cardinal rule never do to another woman what you don’t want done to you. Santi was a little more difficult as culturally I understand that sons can do no wrong and are treasured I can sympathize with him in having to make a choice between his wife or mother. Although outraged about his wife’s cheating, he never address the fact that he was also willing to cheat but could not follow through with it. I gave it four stars because the story is well written, but I could not connect with the characters. Neither Ashley nor Santi made me want to root for them to stay together or separate my feelings for them were blah.
