Disclaimer: I was a Patreon for Nicolas during part of the creation of this novelEnderal is one of my favorite games of the past decade, with a unique and captivating story wrapped up in a gameplay style of my favorite game series, The Elder Scrolls. Enderal is a full-conversion mod for Skyrim Legendary Edition that creates an entirely new game with brand new lore that in many cases is more interesting and unique than the lore presented in Skyrim. The main story has an overall darker tone with more twists and turns than the main story of Skyrim, which in comparison is more straightforward. One of the standout characters of Enderal is Jespar Dal'Varek, who is a central character throughout much of the main campaign whose wit and charisma often provides much needed levity to a given situation.Dreams of the Dying takes the existing lore of the world of Vyn and changes it in ways that prove beneficial to the crafting of the story. As Nicolas mentioned, the lore of Vyn has been built by multiple authors over the years, and many important story points have been retconned at multiple points in the past several years. The changes made for this novel are certainly for the better, and I greatly appreciate the effort that Nicolas has put into this release. Dreams of the Dying, like Enderal and Nehrim before it, tells a captivating story with interesting characters that don't fit standard fiction or gaming stereotypes. You don't need to have played any of the games set in Vyn to enjoy this book as it does an excellent job introducing readers to the world and characters of the world of Vyn.
